The broadcaster then moved his show to his Facebook page but confirmed he was searching for alternative radio and TV stations for the sake of people who aren’t social media savvy.

Although Cuschieri has been coy about why his show has been cancelled, he has made it clear that the decision came from the PL’s administration and has expunged ONE chairman and ONE Radio head Clint Bajada of all responsibility.

“The decision was taken by PL administration members and was communicated directly to me,” he said in a recent Facebook video. “I have previous experience of working in the PL administration and I know how decisions are taken at administrative level in a political party.”

“I must take the opportunity to thank those PL administrative members who truly respect me; I will never forget your appreciation.”

The PL administration is led by Prime Minister Robert Abela and also includes top-ranking politicians, including PL deputy leaders Chris Fearne and Daniel Micallef, president Ramona Attard, vice-president Louis Gatt, and CEO Randolph Debattista.

In September, Cuschieri had promised to name the people he is convinced were behind this decision in the coming days but later said he received advice to hold his cards to his chest for now.

“The advice I was given is that I should speak out, not now but not too far in the future either. Nothing must be kept mysterious though and everything should be transparent.”

Cuschieri has repeatedly insisted that he will continue vocally supporting the PL and that his show won’t change in format.

“I have received messages from people saying they will cancel their tessera or boycott ONE. While I understand your anger, the PL is greater than each and every one of us and its interests must always triumph. Our love to PL must be unconditional.”
