Cardona Went To Police After Finding Out Koħħu Implicated Him In Murder Plot

Former Economy Minister Chris Cardona told an ongoing jury trial that he contacted the police after finding out that Vince Muscat (Il-Koħħu) had implicated him in a foiled plan to kill Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Testifying today, Cardona said he contacted the police after a Times of Malta journalist asked him for comment about a report that Muscat had implicated him in the alleged 2015 plot.

Cardona had already denounced the claims as “pure, evil fiction”.

As reported by the Times, Cardona also testified that he sat out of Cabinet discussions related to parsons linked to Caruana Galizia’s murder due to those allegations.

He said he couldn’t sue Muscat because the claims were based on hearsay.
