It was another busy night for the Police Drug Squad and the Rapid Intervention Unit who stopped and arrested two individuals following suspicions of drug trafficking.

The incident happened at around 10 pm last when police stopped a vehicle near the Bu?ibba square following suspicions of drug trafficking.

During a search, police found substances suspected to be cocaine as well as large amounts of cash, leading to the arrest of the 24-year-old man and 20-year-old woman who were inside the vehicle.

The man was arraigned in court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him and was granted a provisional discharge under several conditions.

Earlier this week, police also arrested a 27-year-old man from Bormla following a major police operation during which drugs, cash and weapons were confiscated.
