CCTV Footage Emerges Of Hit-And-Run On Luqa Policeman

Graphic footage showing a car driven by 17-year-old Liam Debono after hitting police officer Simon Schembri has been published by Malta’s National Broadcaster, TVM.

The video shows the police officer being thrown off the bonnet of the Mercedes, hitting the floor before the vehicle speeds off to escape being caught. 

The 48-year-old father of three suffered critical wounds after he was dragged for some distance, causing Schembri’s police helmet to be pulled off and eventually running him over.

Messages of support and prayers have flooded in since news of the gravity of his injuries became known.
