Chris Fearne Is First To Formally Submit Bid To Become Next Labour Leader And Prime Minister
Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne is the first candidate to submit his nomination for Labour Party leadership. He submitted his nomination at 6.30pm.
Fearne, who is also Health Minister, enjoys the support of the overwhelming majority of Labour MPs.
Labour MP Robert Abela is also expected to submit his nomination. And a third candidate is not unlikely either at this stage.
An interview with Fearne will be published on Lovin Malta tonight.
Nominations are expected to close at 8pm tonight.
