Mandy Mallia has spoken out in remembrance of her sister Daphne Caruana Galizia, recounting how the Christmas season was her favourite time of the year.

This comes on the 62nd month anniversary of the brutal assassination of Caruana Galizia, with a vigil for justice being held tonight in Valletta in front of the law courts.

“Christmas was Daphne’s favourite time of the year, bringing everyone together, quietly watching, while supplying endless rounds of wonderful food,” Mallia wrote on social media.

“This will be the sixth Christmas without Daphne because of the avarice of some and the complacency of others.”

“Her tremendous loss is exacerbated by the fact that 62 months on from her horrific assassination in broad daylight, justice for Daphne and for her stories has yet to be served.”

“Please join the 6.30pm vigil in Valletta today if you are able to. Let’s ensure that Daphne is not failed by the system in death as she was in life,” Mallia appealed.

The vigil has been recurring every single month without fail since the death of Caruana Galizia, as a promise that the fight for truth will persist until necessary.
