A driver had a narrow escape this morning as he escaped unharmed from a three-vehicle crash in Gżira that saw his old Jensen-Healey sports car smashed to a pulp.

The police said that the driver, a 28-year-old man from St Julian’s, lost control of his car while driving in Triq ix-Xatt between Gżira and Sliema at around 9:10am. The car crashed into the central strip, hitting two other cars in the process, with footage from the incident showing that it suffered extensive damage.

However, the driver escaped unharmed, with several reports stating that he had actually refused medical assistance from an ambulance that was dispatched to the site.
