A woman should be elected as the next PL Deputy Leader for Party Affairs, former PL MEP and MEP candidate Claudette Abela Baldacchino has said.

“I sincerely believe that a woman should be entrusted with this position for the first time in the party’s glorious history,” Abela Baldacchino said. “Whether it’s me or someone else doesn’t make a difference. I worked in the party for years and served everywhere. I know the party and the party knows me. It’s now time to act.”

Asked by Lovin Malta whether she’s interested in the role herself or whether she has someone else in mind, Abela Baldacchino said she has a lot of experience working within the party’s structures and “will do what is in the party’s best interest”.
