‘You Were One Of A Kind’: Close Friends Pay Tribute To Ben Laferla After Tragic Passing
Close friends mourning the tragic passing of 21-year-old Ben Laferla have offered their heartfelt tributes.
Ben Laferla died after he was involved in an accident where an underage driver lost control of a GoTo rental car and crashed into a wall.
The death has shocked many across the nation, with Malta’s roads having already seen almost 20 traffic-related fatalities.
Lovin Malta spoke to some of Laferla’s very close friends, who expressed their condolences and are remembering Laferla as the kind and beautiful soul that he was.
“As the years go by, your contagious laugh will forever echo in all of our minds. Your smile and memory will forever be something that we will cherish and keep close to our hearts. You were one of a kind. May your soul forever rest in calmness and peace. We will miss you greatly Laferla,” one told Lovin Malta.
“He was always joking around and he taught everyone to live in the moment. He never failed to make anyone laugh. He always put a big smile on people’s faces. He cared to make a difference by teaching people not to take life so seriously. That was his energy, to me and to many people to be fair,” another expressed.
One other close friend conveyed that he was a “beautiful person who badly craved happiness like all of us”.
“He never skipped out on opportunities and said yes to everything. A fierce soul. He soaked up life like no one else I know. He was the best friend you could have on your side, he was the most caring friend I had by my side at a very bad time,” they continued.
“He would go out of his way to see people laughing, people would think he was too loud and aggressive but it was his way of making everyone laugh. He just wanted everyone to be happy too.”
“I am still shocked to hear the news of your death. You always brightened my day and made me laugh when we were at school. I am very grateful that I had fun memories with you. I watched you grow and mature during our school years together,” another friend expressed.
“I will miss you making me laugh. I hope you rest easy and that you are in a better place.”
Another close friend explained how Laferla would always manage to find something to make people smile about, even when things got hard.
“He was filled with ideas and had so much to contribute. Ben was always up for any kind of adventure and touched the lives of many of us in so many different ways. His love for electronic music, for techno, is something I’ll be inspired by forever,” they said.
“I know Ben as the human embodiment of rhythm, which created a connection for so many humans, never failing to bring something new to the table. Rest easy brother, you’ll be missed.”
“I will forever cherish our friendship and memories together. I am so sorry I can’t be there for you this time but I promise I’ll visit you in November when I go back to Malta,” another friend who is currently abroad expressed.
“Thank you for all the laughs and stressful moments you’ve put me through. I am so thankful that you were a part of my life and I will forever remember your one-of-a-kind smile, laugh and most importantly your character. Love you Benny boy,” they said.
Rest in peace Ben Laferla
