A 40-year-old man from Pakistan tragically lost his life earlier today after falling from a height of around five storeys at a construction site in Żabbar.

The incident happened at around 6pm in Triq Salvu Astarita, where emergency services, including a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department, were quickly dispatched.

Unfortunately, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia has opened an inquiry, and investigations are ongoing by the police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA).

Authorities are working to establish the exact cause of the accident.
