A construction worker has died following an incident in the Ħandaq area of Qormi.

In a statement, police said that the victim, a 52-year-old Georgian resident of St Paul’s Bay, fell three storeys from the construction site he was working on.

The incident happened at 9am this morning.

Ambulance services and the Civil Protection Department rushed onto the scene and took the man to the hospital. However, he died a few hours later.

An investigation has been opened and a magisterial inquiry is underway.
