Migrants staying at the Ħal Far ‘Tent Village’ woke up this morning to find the containers being used to house them had been toppled by the strong winds currently hitting the island.

Newsbook reports that sources have confirmed two units have fallen due to the weather.

It is also reported that people were inside when one of the containers had started to move but luckily managed to escape before the wind lifted their makeshift residence.

A person speaking to Newsbook.com.mt also expressed their relief that no one had been injured as a result, noting that the containers used to house the migrants were not adequate for bad weather.

The man who spoke to Newsbook has since invited the government to Ħal Far so as to witness the effects firsthand.

What do you think? Should the migrants be given safer housing during times of bad weather?
