Cops On Call: You Can Now Contact The Malta Police Force On Facebook Messenger
The Malta Police Force can now be contacted through a 24/7 Facebook Messenger service. While this option was available before, the texts were previously handled by the Public Relations department, who often weren’t specifically trained to deal with serious or urgent situations.
From now on, their Facebook messages will be handled directly by the same department responsible for taking emergency calls through the official telephone lines 112 and 119.
Phone lines are still the recommended way to contact the Police Force in case of emergency. But when that is not possible, or where it would be easier to make a report through text, such as if you wish to include a picture or video, this service may prove more effective.
