A woman’s body has been discovered in Balluta Bay, St Julian’s.

Police were notified of the gruesome discovery earlier this morning, with officers now on site, a police spokesperson has confirmed.

Photos sent to Lovin Malta appear to show that the woman’s body was found underneath the arches beneath the promenade. However, police could not as yet confirm this information.

It is also unclear whether the woman died on the steps leading to the bay, or was washed up to the shore.

Information as to whether the incident was an accident or foul play is still unknown.

This is a developing story.
