The partner of Shawn Curmi, the Żejtun father who unexpectedly lost his life after falling two storeys while carrying out works in his house, has shared a heartfelt tribute to the man.

“Dear Shawn,” Tessabelle Camilleri began. “I don’t think I will ever be able to fully express the pain I feel in my heart. You have been my absolute best friend in all of this world and my number one priority.”

“Many times I told you ‘You inspire me every single day’. You were the strongest and kindest person I have ever met. A man with the most beautiful heart.”

Tributes from friends and colleagues flooded social media after his death was initially reported. However, his partner’s insights into the man’s personality and plans for the future showed a different side to the late father.

“Thank you for being there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, a place to vent, a person to talk to for hours about everything and nothing. Thank you for showing me what true love really means and what it feels like to be respected. Thank you for all the meals you cooked for me.”
