A body in an advanced state of decomposition has been found in Birzebbuġa is a grisly find as an investigation is underway to identify the person.

The body, belonging to a male, was found around 7pm, in a parking lot near Għar Dalam.

Authorities are on site determining what may have led to the body being found there, with an autopsy expected shortly.

A magisterial inquiry has been set up as well as police investigations continue.

Over the last few weeks, no less than two elderly people were reported missing, with a police search for either of them continuing till today.
