Delia’s Supporters Clap Back At Internal Critics Sending Letters To Councillors To Vote ‘No’ Tomorrow
In the run-up to tomorrow’s much-awaited confidence vote, images sent in to Lovin Malta show that a number of councillors have received letters from Save Democracy, the faction leading the anti-Delia campaign within the Nationalist Party.
The letter begins with an appeal to the councillors, stating that the faction opposing Delia wants a Nationalist Party that is strong enough to win elections.
It makes reference to the May Elections, which saw the Nationalist Party lose one of its three seats in the European Parliament, and witnessed support crumble in PN strongholds.
It continues on to say that the Nationalist Party must prevent Joseph Muscat from getting a two-thirds majority, urging that “the party needs to be led by someone who is able to establish unity and respect and not sow division that will lose us votes, as done in May.”
The letter ends by telling PN councillors to vote ‘No’.
In response to the letters sent to them, Some Nationalist councillors expressed their support for Delia on the private Facebook Group Grupp PN and more publicly on Facebook’s newsfeed.
Some of the stronger reactions showed letters being torn to pieces.
