Dine And Dashers At It Again As St Julian’s Restaurant Owner Opens Up On Italians Fleeing

An Italian restaurant owner has opened up about a group of Italians that ‘dined and dashed’ from his St Julian’s eatery this weekend.

This comes after leading local chef Sean Gravina shared footage of a group of Italian ‘dine and dashers’ that fled from his restaurant in St Julian’s.

“I wanted to report the visit to our L’Ostricaio restaurant in Paceville, from the group of freeloaders who are now sadly becoming famous on the island,” co-owner of the restaurant Paolo Carcone wrote on the Expats Malta Facebook group.

“Last night, four people arrived, aged around thirty years old, asking to be seated outside at the peripheral table. Then, another two arrived, and they happily ordered and consumed, chatting with the staff and showing an evident Italian Napolitan accent,” he detailed.

“Suddenly they got up and literally ran away, leaving staff and guests dumbfounded and unable to stop them.”

“Unfortunately such things happen, but I want to alert other restaurant owners and contribute to the arrest of these ‘gentlemen’,” the restaurant owner told Lovin Malta.

The co-owner, unfortunately, expressed that they have no footage of the dashers, as they “chose to sit outside in a place not covered by the CCTV system”.

“They expressly chose to sit on the table at the far-right,” the owner detailed.

The co-owner also said that they will be filing a police report, “in the hope that these champions of the ‘midnight escape’ can be identified and justly punished”.

“We also wanted to provide some additional elements for their identification to alert colleagues in the catering business,” he said.
