Discarded Condoms Discovered By Mother And One-Year-Old At Children’s Playground In Gżira
A mother out with her one-year-old child was shocked to find used condoms discarded at the Gżira playground.
“I was on a walk with my little one-year-old child at the Gżira park today, like every other morning, and it was really disappointing to find these kinds of things where children play,” the mother told Lovin Malta.
“Condoms everywhere!” she exclaimed, horrified at the state of the playground meant for little children, before opening up about other negative aspects.
“Children play in this area every single day. Worse than this is that often we find people sleeping under the slides early in the morning, as well as rubbish left laying around.”
Lovin Malta reached out to Gżira mayor Conrad Borg Manche, to see whether he is aware of the issue and get a comment.
“I am aware of it, of course, in fact, part of the project is to close the garden during the night,” Borg Manche’ told the newsroom.
“Police also need to keep up with surveillance, it is an ongoing issue so of course whoever abuses knows that there is no surveillance,” he expressed.
Lovin Malta has also reached out to Malta’s police for a comment on the matter.
