Driver Suspended After Public Bus Smashes Into Floriana Central Strip
A bus driver has been suspended effective immediately as a result of ‘preliminary findings’ following an early morning crash that saw a pole and a palm tree severely damaged in Floriana.
“A bus operated by Malta Public Transport was earlier today involved in an accident in Floriana. No one was injured in this accident, and there were no passengers on board the bus,” a spokesperson for Malta Public Transport said in a statement today.
“The company’s response team was immediately on-site and an internal investigation is currently underway. The driver involved has been suspended, following initial findings of the investigation,” they continued.
It is as yet unknown what led to the accident, though it was confirmed that no passengers were on board and no one was injured in the incident, though the bus itself was severely damaged.
