The Labour Party won a record-breaking victory today and the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Keith Schembri wasted no time in telling everyone how that made him feel.

Nigel Vella, a communications official at Castille, uploaded a photo of Schembri leaping into his arms and captioned it with various emojis.

The PL won the European Parliament election by an estimated 45,000 votes, a result that is expected to see the party win its fourth seat in Strasbourg at the expense of the PN.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said he was speechless at the result, which he said shows the country had rejected the fear mongering and negativity of the Nationalist Party.

PN leader Adrian Delia has yet to comment, but PN secretary general Clyde Puli has promised that Delia will remain at the helm of the party until at least the next general election.
