Social Media Flooded With Well Wishes And Tributes After Eddie Fenech Adami Faints
An icon of Maltese politics, former Prime Minister and President Eddie Fenech Adami, is recovering in hospital after collapsing in his home.
As news of his collapse broke, many well-known names and faces came out to wish Fenech Adami a speedy recovery.
“I wish a speedy recovery to Fenech Adami, you are in our thoughts,” PN Leader Bernard Grech said.
“On behalf of the Maltese government, I wish Eddie Fenech Adami a speedy recovery,” Prime Minister Robert Abela said in a tweet.
PN MP Rebekah Cilia posted a photo with the living legend, saying that she is wishing him a quick recovery and assuring he is in her thoughts.
“I’d like to wish a speedy recovery to the man who inspires many to make a difference,” PN MP Eve Borg Bonello said.
“I ask you to keep Eddie in your prayers during these moments,” MEP David Casa said.
“Our prayers for President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami,” PN MP Adrian Delia said.
Fenech Adami, who served as prime minister of Malta for 15 years and the country’s seventh president between 2004 and 2009, fainted earlier this morning, his son Beppe Fenech Adami explained.
The 88-year-old was reportedly stable by the time tests were undergone under an hour ago, at around 1.30pm. He is however still being kept for observation in Mater Dei’s cardiac ward.
