A 60-year-old man from Valletta lost his life in a tragic accident at the shooting range in Tal-Handaq, Qormi this morning. 

The police said in a statement the man was firing shots at the shooting range at around 11am this morning but ended up shooting himself by mistake due to a technical problem in his gun. 

The man was rushed to Mater Dei for treatment but eventually succumbed to his injuries.
