A 75-year-old man from Ħaż-Żebbuġ has been seriously injured after falling from a ladder while carrying out work in a field in Wied il-Ħesri, Siġġiewi.

The incident happened yesterday at around 8.30pm when police were alerted to the scene.

A medical team and Civil Protection Department officers were immediately dispatched to assist and the man was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where his injuries were certified as serious.

Magistrate Joseph Mifsud has been informed of the case and has launched an inquiry.

Meanwhile, police investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
