Ena’s Triumph Over Cancer: The Inspirational Story Of A Maltese Teen Who Battled Illness While Acing O’ Levels
In a heartwarming tale of strength, resilience, and determination, Ena Marie Mifsud, a brave Maltese teenager, has returned to her home in Malta after a gruelling nine-month battle with cancer in London.
What makes her story even more remarkable is that, just two days after completing her cancer treatment, Ena sat for her O’ level exams at the High Commission of Malta in the United Kingdom.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes. We are overjoyed to be back and can’t wait to get back to our normal routine,” her mother Maria Mifsud said today, sharing the update.
Throughout this challenging period, Ena’s spirit remained unbroken.
She refused to let her illness define her, using her time to stay occupied and even kickstarting her own business.
Her indomitable spirit, combined with the unwavering support of her family, medical professionals, and well-wishers, has made Ena’s journey a beacon of hope and inspiration.
Ena and her family extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional doctors and nurses at UCLH – University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, who played a crucial role in her recovery.
They also express their appreciation for the High Commission diplomats, Danilo Bonnici and Christine Cachia, who provided invaluable assistance during their stay in London.
The support didn’t stop there. Ena’s school, Immaculate Conception Secondary School – St. Jeanne Antide College Tarxien, rallied around her, as did the 12th Birzebbuga Girl Guides and numerous contributors to fundraising efforts. Their collective effort showcases the power of community in times of adversity.
Ena’s family is particularly thankful for the spiritual guidance provided by Father Mario Sant and Father Joseph Formosa during their stay in London, highlighting the importance of faith and support in challenging times.
Now, back in Malta and brimming with energy, Ena is eager to return to her normal routine.
