Enemalta Announces Diversions Due To Road Works
Enemalta just released a statement this afternoon saying that they are currently upgrading it’s electricity distribution network with new 11-kilovolt underground cables as well as improving the water distribution and drainage systems in the southern areas of Żebbuġ and Marsa.
Due to this, Triq il-Marsa (Triq Emmanuel Luigi Galizia) and part of Triq Imdina will be closed in the coming period. Because of this, Enemalta has released a diversion map to suggest alternative routes if you happen to pass by those areas.

The public is encouraged to take these alternative routes:
- Northbound: From Luqa to Siġġiewi, use Triq Ħal Farruġ and Triq Imqabba.
- Southbound: From Rabat to the airport, use the Central Link.
These are necessary upgrading works which need to be done for the Electricity/Water and Sewage systems and are being done in summer to minimise inconvenience in winter when school starts.
