Environment And Planning Merged Into One Portfolio As Robert Abela Shuffles His Cabinet
New Prime Minister Robert Abela has merged the environment, planning and climate change portfolios into a single ministry, under the responsibility of Aaron Farrugia.
It is a promotion for Farrugia, who was previously parliamentary secretary for EU funds, and a major policy decision by Abela.
Meanwhile, Byron Camilleri is set to be promoted to Home Affairs Minister, while Silvio Schembri is set to be promoted to Economy Minister, with responsibility for Air Malta added to his portfolio.
The full Cabinet is expected to be announced later on today.
