‘Extraordinary!’: Gianluca Bezzina’s ‘Sabiħa’ Wins Third Edition Of Mużika Mużika
Malta’s most popular ‘singing doctor’ has won the third edition of Maltese music festival Mużika Mużika.
Gianluca Bezzina’s Sabiħa, a soft yet energetic ode, swept the show in front of a live audience of 6,500 and a combined audience of over 300,000 over three shows.
Sabiħa’s music was written by Philip Vella with lyrics by Joe Julian Farrugia.
The show, which is being praised for its focus on original Maltese music and high quality, saw Drakard and Lisa Gauci’s Jekk Mhux Int come in second place and Jasmine’s M’Hawnx Bħalek in third.
Arts Minister Owen Bonnici congratulated the artists that took part in the competition celebrating the Maltese language.
