A Gozitan farmer has spoken out in frustration as illegal waste dumping continues to persist in the beautiful Ramla Valley in Xagħra.

Speaking with Lovin Malta, the farmer expressed how he and other farmers are fed up with having to clean up the rubbish themselves.

“This is more illegal dumping by someone who has done it multiple times in the last three days as myself and other farmers in the vicinity are sick of collecting their rubbish,” the farmer told Lovin Malta.

“This is ongoing dumping, most probably done by the same individual which we have not managed to catch in the act.”

Photos sent to Lovin Malta show a discarded bird cage, garbage bags filled to the brim, plastic bottles, and what appears to be a construction barrier.

The farmer appealed for ERA or another entity to intervene by installing a CCTV camera in the vicinity, adding that it would be appreciated by all farmers.

Lovin Malta is forwarding all details to the Environment and Resources Authority in hopes that some action will be taken to safeguard the area’s environment.
