Fatal Gżira Crash Driver Jeremie Camilleri To Be Charged With Murder

The main suspect in yesterday’s fatal car crash in Gżira, Jeremie Camilleri, is set to be charged with murder later today.
Pelin Kaya tragically lost her life on her own birthday after Camilleri crashed into the Gżira petrol station and the KFC outlet where Kaya was walking.
It was later found that Camilleri was under the influence of drugs, with many reporting that he tested positive for high levels of cocaine.
Camilleri has been involved in a multitude of cases, including theft and violence, and was on probation at the time of the accident.
The incident occurred at around 1am on 18th January, along Triq Testaferrata in Gżira.
People on site immediately tried to assist the woman but were met with aggression from Camilleri, who ultimately had to be tased by police in order to contain him.
Magistrate Nadina Lia is leading an inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
