Fire In Mġarr Harbour Leaves Two Injured And Several Boats Burned

Two people are battling grievous injuries after several boats caught on fire in Gozo’s Mġarr harbour.
The fire erupted at roughly 3:30am this morning, with police officers and other emergency services rushing to the scene.
Two men, one aged 29 from Mellieħa and another 34 from Għajnsielem, were left badly burned by the blaze and were suffering from smoke inhalation. They’ve been taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further care.
One suffered serious injuries, the other man’s condition is unknown.
Magistrate Bridgette Sultana is overseeing the inquiry. Investigations are ongoing.
