First Leg Of Joseph Muscat’s Farewell Tour Is Announced: Naxxar, Ħaż-Żebbuġ And Paola
Joseph Muscat will visit Naxxar, Ħaż-Żebbuġ and Paola this Sunday on the first leg of his farewell tour as Prime Minister of Malta.
Muscat will meet and greet supporters outside the Labour Party club in Naxxar at 10am, before heading off to the PL club in Ħaż-Żebbuġ at 10:45am and the Paola village square at 11:30am.
The Prime Minister has urged his supporters not to organise spontaneous rallies in support of him but rather to wait until he visits their home towns.
“I’d like to to meet people in a friendly atmosphere to thank everyone who has supported me over the years,” he said on ONE today.
Muscat will step down as leader of the Labour Party on 12th January and as Prime Minister a few days later in light of developments in the investigations into the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia. However, protestors are demanding he steps down immediately, warning that his continued presence risks hindering the murder investigation, seeing as his former chief of staff Keith Schembri has been implicated by murder suspect Yorgen Fenech.
