Five Injured In Gozo Traffic Accident Between Double-Decker Bus And Car

A traffic accident in Żebbuġ, Gozo, left five people injured after a collision between a double-decker bus and a car on Triq ir-Rabat yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 2.45pm when a double-decker Optare bus, driven by a 45-year-old man from Xewkija, collided with a Toyota Vitz, which was being driven by a 35-year-old Egyptian man.
Four foreign passengers, two men and two women, all in their seventies, were on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders, including a medical team and Civil Protection Department officers, rushed to the scene to assist.
Both drivers and all four bus passengers were taken to Gozo General Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the passengers only sustained minor injuries and the bus driver was unhurt.
However, the Egyptian driver of the Toyota Vitz was certified to have suffered grievous injuries.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
