Five People Taken To Hospital After Late-Night Crash In Mosta

A traffic accident in Mosta last night left one person seriously injured, two others grievously hurt, and two with slight injuries, police have confirmed.
The crash occurred at around 10.15pm in Triq il-Missjunarji Maltin, when two Toyota Vitz cars collided, one driven by a 50-year-old man from Ħad-Dingli, and the other by a 30-year-old Albanian man residing in St Paul’s Bay.
In the first car, there was also a 48-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, both from Ħad-Dingli, while the second vehicle had a 37-year-old woman from Bormla on board.
Emergency teams from the Civil Protection Department and a medical crew were called to the scene, with all five people taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
The 37-year-old woman was later certified to be seriously injured, while the Albanian driver and the 14-year-old girl were certified as grievously injured. The 50-year-old driver and the 48-year-old passenger sustained slight injuries.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry as police investigations continue.
