FKNK Gifts Turtle Dove Sculpture To Robert Abela In Castille Get-Together
A new sculpture may be on display in Malta’s seat of power in Valletta after hunting lobbyists held a private meeting with the Prime Minister.
A delegation from the Council of the Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK) paid a “courtesy visit” to Robert Abela at his office in Castille.
The talks revolved around the “general situation regarding hunting and trapping affairs, the FKNK conservation projects in progress at present and future similar undertakings,” FKNK said in a statement following the meeting.
The involvement of the Federation with various Ministries and Government Authorities, as well as with the EU was also discussed.
At the end of the meeting the FKNK officials presented the Prime Minister with a sculpture of a turtle dove, Malta’s chief game-bird. The sculpture is the work of a FKNK Member Stephen Fenech.
Abela seemed to have dressed up for the meeting, donning a vest not dissimilar to a hunter’s.
This is far from the first time that the hunting lobby gifted a sculpture to a politician.
Back in May, FKNK gifted Gozo Minister a clay statuette of a turtle dove, also made by Fenech.
