Former Labour MEP Marlene Mizzi Calls For Chris Fearne To Immediately Take Over As Prime Minister
Former Labour MEP Marlene Mizzi has called for Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne to immediately take over as Prime Minister of Malta.
“The post of Deputy PM is there to take over the premiership when needed,” Mizzi wrote on Facebook. “We need this to happen NOW! Country FIRST, please!”
Fearne, as well as Labour MP Robert Abela, have both announced they intend to contest the upcoming PL leadership election on 12th January. However, protestors have called on Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to step down immediately and appoint an interim leader, warning that his continued presence at Castille risks obstructing justice in the case of the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
