Former PN Mayor Elected As Independent In Deadlocked Żebbuġ – PL Keeps Hold of Gżira
Former Nationalist Party Mayor of ?ebbu? Nicky Saliba has been elected as an independent candidate in the Gozitan town, the second on the island to be left with a deadlocked local council.
Marlene Cini and Sandra Grech were elected for the Labour Party, while Daniel Cordina and Baskal Saliba were elected for the PN.
Yesterday, the new third party ‘G?arb L-Ewwel’ won two seats in G?arb. David Agius Apap was also the former PN Mayor there was elected, with the G?arb local council also showing a deadlock.
The PN is currently do well in Naxxar and has already won the majorities in San Lawrenz, Kercem, Xg?ajra, and Swieqi.
However, the PL looks like it will wrestle the majority in Mosta away from the PN, after already declaring victories in Floriana, Senglea, Qala, G?ira, Birgu, Kirkop and Mtarfa
23 towns and villages around Malta and Gozo will elect their local councils this evening, which are:
Swieqi, Attard, Qormi, Naxxar, Mosta, Floriana, Luqa, Senglea, ?amrun, G?arg?ur, G?ira, Kirkop, Si??iewi, Santa Lu?ija, Mtarfa, Xg?ajra, Safi, Birgu, San Lawrenz, Munxar, Qala, Kercem and ?ebbu?
