Four Arrested In Connection With Drug Importation And Trafficking Following Separate Police Operations

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with drug importation, trafficking, and possession following two separate operations carried out by the police.
The first operation took place at around 1.30am in Triq Antonio Sciortino, Msida. After days of surveillance, police officers observed a man entering an apartment carrying a pouch and exiting a few minutes later.
The man, a 29-year-old Italian national, was stopped and searched by officers.
Police then entered the apartment and found a 29-year-old man and woman, both Spanish nationals.
A search was conducted on the individuals and the property, leading to the discovery of suspected cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, and pills with an estimated market value of €6,000.
The second operation was carried out at Malta International Airport with assistance from Customs officials.
During routine checks, two 29-year-old British nationals were seen behaving suspiciously near the X-ray screening area.
Upon further inspection, police found pills and several packets containing substances believed to be cocaine and ketamine in their possession.
All four individuals are being held at the police lock-up in Floriana and are expected to appear in court today at 11.30am before Magistrate Astrid May Grima.
