Frustrated Qormi Resident Suffering Power Cuts Every Single Evening
As Malta experiences its latest power cut crisis, an Qormi resident has reached out to Lovin Malta to explain the nightmare scenario she has found herself in this past week.
The woman said that her voltage has been dipping to below 207V every evening, with the power going out automatically to save her appliances from damage.
Although the power doesn’t take long to return, the voltage keeps dipping when she turns her appliances on and the power eventually goes out again.
She said she recently suffered no fewer than five power cuts in a single hour.
The woman said she has been calling and complaining to Enemalta non-stop, and that yesterday she was made to wait over an hour on the phone before getting through to a representative.
She stressed that she has nothing against the customer care officials, who she said were understanding and apologetic as she vented her frustration to them. At a point, she even had to go to a nearby shop simply to charge her phone to call Enemalta.
After several phone calls, Enemalta finally promised to send an engineer over to her place to assess the situation.
The Qormi resident lives in dread every evening, constantly monitoring the voltage to find out if the power is about to turn off and forced to keep her AC off so as not to risk overloading the system.
“My evenings are spent monitoring the voltage, watching it fluctuate and informing Enemalta,” she said.
She is also growing concerned that her appliances could end up suffering permanent damage.
“I spent thousands of euro on my appliances, who will shoulder responsibility if they get damaged?” she questioned.
