Fundraiser To Repatriate Body Of 21-Year-Old Italian Killed In Pembroke Crash

Friends and relatives of 21-year-old Maichol Di Nunzio, the Italian national who tragically lost his life after a scooter crash in Pembroke, have launched a fundraiser to help repatriate his body to Italy.
Di Nunzio, originally from Primavalle in Rome, had been in critical condition at Mater Dei Hospital for two days after his scooter collided with a concrete barrier along Triq Sant’ Andrija on 14th August.

Raised from the age of nine in a community home with his sister Aurora, Di Nunzio was remembered for his kindness, his work with the civil service at Opera Don Calabria, and his job at a local bar.
Friends described him as “a cheerful young man full of life” who remained positive despite a difficult childhood.
The GoFundMe, which has already raised more than €28,000, aims to help Aurora cover the costs of bringing her brother home.
“They grew up together, supporting each other through everything. Now Aurora faces the enormous burden of repatriation alone, and we are asking for help from anyone who can contribute,” organisers said.
