A number of teenagers had to be medically treated last night after being targeted and attacked be a “roaming gang” of thugs in Malta’s capital city, Valletta, with at least one teen being hospitalised at Mater Dei.

“They were attacked in a busy part of Merchant Street by what seemed like a gang of local teenagers who were looking for a fight. One of them ended up in hospital and is in surgery right now because they smashed his leg,” one person related to one of the victims told Lovin Malta.

Another young Maltese teen who knew the victims and left shocked by what happened told Lovin Malta that the group were “jumped by some random 18-year-olds in Valletta, and one of my friends got really injured because of this.”

He urged authorities to do something as “we have people getting hurt by a bunch of ħamalli“.
