German Diver Loses His Life During Swim Near Xatt L-Aħmar, Gozo
A diver lost his lost during an evening swim in Gozo.
The man, a 67-year-old German national, was swimming near Xatt L-Aħmar, Għajnsielem, when he encountered difficulties in the sea at around 6.15pm Friday evening.
Nearby persons notified the police to the man’s plight.
Police as well as a medical team from Gozo General Hospital arrived on the scene where the diver had already been dragged onto land by other people.
He was given medical assistance by was unfortunately certified dead on the scene.
Magistrate Brigitte Sultana has opened an inquiry into the death.
