Open AI launched ChatGPT last November, and it has become the go-to for many users, both on an international and local level.
In Malta, the AI model has made many headlines – with lecturers raising their moral concerns about the chatbot’s use by students, and some even consider it to be cheating.
The chatbot works by providing answers to given questions in a conversation-like manner, making it the most user-friendly model to date.
However, it has brought many to question the survival of other search engines, such as Google Search.
Google makes most of its money from its search engine, as they charge advertisers a fee for promoting its ads next to the search results.
ChatGPT itself, does not think it could replace google, when asked on the website, it replied saying:
However, the chatbot could be trained to answer such questions without sounding too confident or raising any suspicion.
Only the future will tell whether OpenAI is downplaying the situation, or whether Google will continue thriving!
