Malta’s uphill struggle with excellent customer care seems to be never-ending, as one gym member found out.
Writing on social media group and general complaints centre ‘RUBS’, one man shared screenshots showing quite an incredible conversation with Kinetika Fitness Clubs.
In a series of messages, the man, who has been a member of Kinetika’s gym at Malta’s national pool for the last five years, detailed how the gym had fallen into a “horrible situation” even though prices had increased twice this year.
“From 10 treadmills, only three are working, and they only just got five new ones a few months ago. The gym is filthy. The showers are disgusting and broken,” he said.
Rather than deal with their long-term client’s concerns, Kinetika nonchalantly dismissed them, saying:
“You are more than welcome to join another gym. Thanks.”
Naturally taking issue with the reply, the man asked whether this was how they treated their customers.
“Yes,” replied the gym.
“Thank you for the compliments. It seems that you do like the gym after all…Thanks once again and hope you find the right gym…Regards”
The Facebook post has since been flooded with commenters slamming the poor customer care, while others simply shared links to other gyms across the island.
Kinetika declined to comment when contacted by Lovin Malta, due to “privacy issues”.
