Godfrey And Marlene Farrugia Receive Another Death Threat: ‘Stop Or Face A Case Like Daphne Caruana Galizia’s’
Partit Demokratiku’s Marlene and Godfrey Farrugia have received a death threat in a letter full of offences that ended with a chilling message to stop what they are doing or face a fate similar to slain journalist Daphe Caruana Galizia’s.
The letter expresses support for Nationalist Leader Dr Adrian Delia, and specifically tells the couple to stop attempting to undermine his position. It continues on to say that if they don’t stop undermining Delia, “we’re going to have another case like that liar Daphney’s (sic)”.
Godfrey Farrugia posted a picture of the death threat along with: “yesterday I shared what Joseph Muscat’s trolls sent me, today I’m going to share with you what I just got in the mail from Delia’s trolls.”
Marlene Farrugia said this threat wouldn’t hold hold them back from speaking the truth
Reacting to the threat in a public video, Marlene Farrugia made it clear the threat wouldn’t stop her from doing her work.
“The kind of threat we received this morning isn’t the only one we received. We’ve been receiving these kinds of threats since I stopped the Labour government from betraying you,” she said. “But we will keep on fighting in our country for normality to reign. We want our children to enjoy the country like we all did. We won’t give up, and we aren’t scared to speak the truth – that’s how we were, and how we will continue to be.”
