Gozitan Churches Raise €30,000 For Ukrainian Victims Of War

Through Caritas, parish churches in Gozo have raised €30,000 to help out Ukrainian individuals and families who are suffering due to the ongoing war.

The war, which started earlier this year in February, has driven many of Ukraine’s population into survival mode, constantly looking for shelter and safety.

The Gozitan Diocese stated that many have no electricity or gas to keep them warm during the harsh winter months, adding that they will also be sending over warm clothes.

Due to temperatures reaching below zero degrees, the donations will mostly be used to purchase terminal clothes made especially for cold weather which will then be handed out to those in need.

Caritas Malta is also helping those Ukrainians seeking refuge from the war in Gozo. Caritas Malta extended its gratitude to all the benefactors who contributed to this initiative and donated.

On an international level, Caritas is also helping families and children who are struggling to find shelter; you can make your own donations to help out on their Ukrainian site.

Well done for the initiative!
