Gozo Ferry Crashes Into Pier Due To Stormy Weather Leaving Only Two Ships Operational
Only two Gozo Channel ferries remain operational after one crashed into a pier earlier today.
The ferry was damaged today after crashing into a pier due to strong winds and rough seas, Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana told Parliament.
Another ship, the MV Nikolaos, was taken for repairs earlier this month and will not operate again until mid-December.
This leaves only two vessels left to operate services between Malta and Gozo for the time being.
Caruana also noted that nobody was hurt during the incident and that the ship has been taken out of service for repairs.
The remaining two ships will increase the frequency of trips to make up for the lack of operating vessels.
