Oriana Bertolino has been identified as the 31-year-old woman who tragically lost her life after falling down a cliff in a quad bike accident in Gozo last night.

Bertolino, an Italian national, was identified by the Sicilian media outlet La Sicilia, which said she was part of a group excursion to watch the sunset near Wied il-Mielaħ, Għarb.

She was riding pillion on a quad bike close to the cliffs. The rider, a 47-year-old Italian man, had lost control of the vehicle and, while he managed to jump off the vehicle in time, his passenger fell off the cliffs and into the sea.

The police and AFM searched the area and recovered the woman’s body.
