GWU Mediates Solutions For International Students Left In Limbo After License Revocation

Former students of the International European University (IEU) had another meeting with the General Workers’ Union today to discuss their options after their school’s license was revoked by the authorities.
GWU official Kevin Abela told Lovin Malta that the union spoke to Identità on behalf of the students, who were ordered to leave Malta after IEU lost its license.
“Identità understood that their case is a genuine one,” he told Lovin Malta. “If other schools are ready to accept them, even in different courses, then Identità will update their statuses and allow them to stay in Malta. Obviously, they will still need to individually vet their applications.”
A number of private educational institutions have publicly said they are willing to accept the former IEU students.
However, several students are facing a major hurdle: the IEU still holds their course documents. With the new academic year about to start and all IEU staff reportedly having left Malta, time is running out.
