Gżira Mayor Slams Political Motions That Are Bound To Fail As ‘Waste Of Time’ During Energy Crisis

Gżira Mayor Conrad Borg Manché expressed his vexation at political bickering and motions of no confidence during a period when Malta is facing serious problems with its electricity supply.
“Parliament should meet to agree on a bilateral plan on how we can ensure the people will have the highest level of water and electricity distribution for this and future generations,” he said in a new post.
He went on to urge for more of a focus on “alternative sources of clean energy which respect nature so we can all look after our climate, which is kicking back with heat waves, heavy snow and rain in many European countries.”
Borg Manché went on to imply that political movements like the no-confidence motion against Energy Minister Miriam Dalli is nothing more than a waste of time and energy especially since government has a seven strong majority that can override the motion.
He suggests asking for technical help from the EU to upgrade a system much of which has been left to its own devices since colonial times.
“After all we were always there up front to offer help to other countries when they needed it.”
Do you agree with what Borg Manché is saying?
